Nirmal Gangwal, a Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary, and Lawyer, hails from a modest family in a small village in Rajasthan. With a reputation for out-of-the-box thinking, Nirmal, a pioneer in the special situation advisory space in India, has been instrumental in ideating and crafting innovative financial solutions for business owners facing temporary disruptions. He is often synonymous with “Regenerating Value” and “Creating Opportunity out of Adversity,” particularly in the realm of special situations and stressed assets.
As a pioneer, Nirmal introduced the concept of a “Risk Return Matrix,” balancing industry perspectives on risk and returns with the needs of borrowers. He played a key role in India’s first case under the Corporate Debt Restructuring (CDR) forum initiated by the Reserve Bank of India and guided the first successful exit from the forum.
Nirmal’s advisory expertise was also sought by the leadership team of Hon’ble Shri Narendra Modi Ji (now Prime Minister of India) during his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat. Nirmal was a preferred advisor for the financial restructuring and turnaround of several Gujarat state-owned enterprises.
Now, as he dedicates himself to his family office, Nirmal focuses on growing proprietary capital through long-term investments in both public and private markets, particularly those with turnaround potential. His approach emphasizes strategic portfolio construction and capital growth.
Beyond business, Nirmal serves on the governing board of the Yoga Institute – Mumbai and has contributed significantly to India’s financial sector, including his work on the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) 2016. He is a Founder Chief Patron of the Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) and, through the Nirmal Foundation Trust, supports education and healthcare initiatives in rural India.
Pooja Gangwal Sheth

With over 16 years of experience in management consulting, business strategy, merger integrations, people operations, and investment management, Pooja brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the family office. She has held leadership roles in internal business operations and human capital at Booz & Company India, a global management consulting firm, and has also worked with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India in human capital consulting.
Pooja has deep experience in optimizing business operations, developing cost-saving strategies, and streamlining work processes. She has successfully led stakeholder management and cross-cultural teams across Asia, ANZ, the Middle East, and the US, particularly in post-merger integrations during acquisitions.
She holds an MBA from NMIMS, is a Certified Business Coach and is an applied behavioral science specialist.
- Rohan Jain
Rohan has over 7 years of experience in capital markets, working with top-tier buy-side and sell-side institutions. He has been part of the investment team at IDFC AMC and has contributed to the institutional research team at ICICI Securities.
In addition, Rohan has gained valuable experience in financial services through his roles in the India Investment Banking team at CLSA and the M&A team at PwC.
As a qualified Chartered Accountant, his diverse background equips him with a comprehensive understanding of the financial markets.
- Harsh Shah
With 5 years of experience in the special situation advisory space, Harsh has worked directly with Mr. Nirmal Gangwal, Chairman & Founder of Brescon Group. In his current role, he is responsible for overseeing the investment initiatives of Brescon Family Office.
Before joining Brescon, Harsh taught Financial Modeling and Financial Statement Analysis at NMIMS. He began his career at PwC in the Transfer Pricing Department.
Harsh is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has cleared all levels of the CFA (US) curriculum.
- Varij Bangur
Varij has five years of experience in the Equity Capital Markets, primarily focusing on buy-side firms. He has played a crucial role as part of the investment team at Pico Capital and was a Founding Team Member at Mensa Brands.
Dedicated to gaining a thorough understanding of businesses through extensive groundwork, Varij took an innovative approach in June 2023 by becoming a delivery rider for four days with Zomato. This hands-on experience allowed him to explore the operational challenges faced by the business firsthand.
Varij is a CFA Charterholder and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Mumbai.
- Naman Maheshwari
Naman has 7 years of experience in valuations, financial modeling, investor relations, and research advisory services. He has been involved in high-profile deals, including the privatization of Air India and the merger of public sector banks.
Beyond these significant projects, Naman has advised clients across a variety of sectors, such as cement, renewable energy, power transmission, general insurance, asset management companies (AMCs), and textiles.
With a strong academic background as a Chartered Accountant and CFA (US) charterholder, combined with extensive industry experience, Naman possesses a comprehensive understanding of diverse financial aspects.
